Weston Mrs. Lucy K. (Kasparian) Aharonian, of Weston, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She was 70. Born in Lynn, a daughter of the late Malcolm and Charlotte (Zarohian) Kasparian, Sr., she was raised in Saugus and had lived in Weston for the past 37 years. Lucy graduated from Saugus High School and from Salem State College. She earned a masters degree in math from Clark University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Boston University School of Management. Until her retirement five years ago, she worked as a software engineer for the Mitre Corporation, Raytheon and for GTE. Lucy also taught math and computer sciences at Newton South High School, Wentworth Institute, Bryant and Stratton College and at Bentley College. She had also been an active member of the Society of Women Engineers. After that, she began a second career as a basket artist and operated her studio at Art Space in Maynard. Lucy was a founding member of the Basketry Guild of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society. She leaves her husband, Donald J. Aharonian; two children, Christine E. Aharonian of Dedham and Gregory C. Aharonian and his wife, Susan, of Sherborn; and one brother, Malcolm Kasparian, Jr. of Waltham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Parish Church of Weston, 349 Boston Post Road, Weston. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
