Lynn M. (Chagnon) Girouard

Lynn Marie (Chagnon) Girouard who grew up in Waltham, died Friday, March 15th under hospice care at her home in Vermont. She was 62.

Lynn was born October 9, 1961 in Waltham, the daughter of the late William and Diane Chagnon. A graduate of Waltham High School with the class of 1979, she continued to study accounting and taxation at Bentley College in the 1980s. She married the love of her life, James Girouard. 

She worked for the City of Waltham's Payroll Department for many years before moving to her dream house, a log cabin in Vermont. There she bonded with nature and her husband Jimmy with their fur babies of many cats, bunnies and dogs.

Lynn loved sitting on the back of Jimmy's motorcycle traveling through the long open roads of New Hampshire and Vermont just to get a bite to eat.  

Lynn and Jimmy enjoyed traveling to Florida to see their daughter, Desiree Neal (Kris) and their three grandchildren Karissa, Jaelyn and Donovan.

She leaves her husband, Jimmy Girouard; her step-daughter Desiree Neal; her three siblings, William F. Chagnon, Jr. of Anacortes, Washington, David J. Chagnon and his wife, Kara, and Sharon A. DiTommaso and her husband, Rob, all of Waltham; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will honor and remember Lynn's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Saturday, April 20th from 10 to 12 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will be private.
