Waltham - M. Patricia Walsh, of Waltham, died on Friday, January 25, 2019 in her home. She was 88.
Pat was born in Waltham on May 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Henry and Cecilia (Halloran) Walsh. She graduated from St. Charles High School in Waltham and then earned her associates degree from Northeastern University. She was a longtime resident of W. Newton before returning to Waltham in 1978.
For many years she worked in the loan department at Newton Waltham Bank, which later became BayBank, and then worked in the legal advertising department at the Boston Herald. She was a longtime member of the Lady's Sodality at St. Bernard's Church in Newton and was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Church in Waltham where she would bring communion to the sick. In her younger years she enjoyed travelling and she will be remembered as the much loved 'favorite aunt' to her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her siblings, Eula A. Walsh of Waltham and Henry F. Walsh (Eva) of Sandwich and also leaves many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was the sister of the late Sr. Carol Walsh C.S.J., Catherine Clancy and Jeanne Garrett.
Family and friends will honor and remember Patricia's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, January 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
