M. Rita Chiasson

Waltham – Mrs. M. Rita (Boudreau) Chiasson of Waltham died Thursday, August 26, 2010 in the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility in Cambridge. She was 81. Rita was born in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, Canada on September 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Chiasson) Boudreau.

She had lived in Waltham since 1957 and was a former member of Saint Joseph’s Church as well as the French American Victory Club Auxiliary.

Rita worked as an assembler at B.L.H. Electronics before retiring 1993. She loved spending time with her family.

Rita is survived by her husband, Stanley J. Chiasson; her daughter, Regina LeBlanc and her husband, Roger, of Sudbury; her son, Bernard Chiasson and his wife, Debbie, of Waltham; her sister, Mary Josephine Gillis of Toronto, Canada; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Gaston and John Boudreau.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rita’s life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4-7 pm and again at 9 am on Wednesday before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
