Wareham – M. Kenneth Weeks, of Wareham, died at home on Monday, December 5, 2016 surrounded by family. He was 81.
Ken was born in Waltham on February 9, 1935, a son of the late Merrill K. and Mary (Moynihan) Weeks. He was a graduate of St. Charles High School and later joined the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He married Mildred L. Hines in 1956 and the pair spent 47 happy years together until her death in 2003.
Until his retirement he had worked as a superintendent in the Water Department for the City of Waltham. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was a member of Little Harbor Golf Course, the Waltham Elks and had been a member of the American Legion Post 156.
Besides his beloved wife, Mildred L. (Hines) Weeks, he is predeceased by his daughter, Diane E. Weeks, his granddaughter, Danielle M. Dupuis and his brothers, George 'Buddy' Weeks and William 'Billy' Weeks.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth M. Weeks of Waltham, Karen M. Dupuis and her fiancé, Wayne Sheck, of Waltham, Keith E. Weeks and his wife, Lynn, of Billerica and David J. Weeks of Wareham; his grandchildren, Kayla Dupuis and Scott Weeks and also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ken's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, December 11th from 2 to 6 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
