Madeline J. Jenkins

Mrs. Madeline J. ( Ricciardi ) Jenkins of Watertown, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 in her home. She was 86. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Fitchburg on April 13, 1927, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Buscemi) Ricciardi.

Madeline was raised in Newton and had graduated from Newton High School. She was a member of the Third Order of Mary-Marist in Waltham and was a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Luke's Church in Belmont.

She had lived in Watertown for the past forty-eight years. Madeline had worked as a secretary at Doble Engineering in Watertown and most recently, at Boston Scientific until her retirement several years ago.

Madeline is survived by her beloved husband, Chester W. Jenkins, Sr.; her children, Chester Jenkins, Jr. & his wife, Jayne, of Salem, Susan Jenkins & her husband, Mike Pyle, of Watertown, Ann Ater & her husband, Robert, of Arrowsic, Maine, Gary Jenkins & his wife, Janet, of Watertown, Diane McClure & her late husband,William, of Tyngsboro, Joseph Jenkins & his wife, Carol, of Watertown, and Mary Jenkins of Tyngsboro; her sister, Phyllis Robillard Magliozzi and her husband, Cosmo, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Mike & his wife, Zhi, Matt, Jessica, Billy, and Sarah; her great grandson, Anthony, and many nieces & nephews.

She was the sister of the late Jack and Joseph Ricciardi.

Family and friends will honor and remember Madeline's life by gathering for calling hours on Sunday, October 20th, from 3-7 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home 245 Main Street, (Route 20), Waltham and again on Monday at 8 am before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 am. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Watertown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated in her memory to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 90 Wells Ave. Newton, MA 02459-9904 (www.hospicegoodshepherd.org) or to the Eternal Word Television Network, 5817 Old Leeds Rd. Irondale Al. 35210-9948 would be appreciated.
