Mr. Man-Tang Liu, of Newton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 20, 2018. He was 79.
Born on October 1, 1938 in Yunlin, a countryside in Taiwan, he was a son of the late Jen-Hsiang Liu and Xin LiuHuang. At age 15, he left home to go to Taipei for attending high school. Since then, he had been independent without seeking any financial support from his parents. Later, he worked as a manager at the public transportation office in Taipei, Taiwan.
One of his qualities was the sincere way he treated his friends. He would help his friends even beyond his capability. One time, a friend went to visit him in Taipei but didn't have money to return home. He not only bought a train ticket for that friend but also gave him his watch, so the friend could sustain his living. When he was working at the public transportation office in Taipei, he liked to prepare foods for the bus drivers so all the drivers loved him and stayed in touch with him even long after he retired. Due to his sincerity and trustworthy, he was deeply loved by his peers and friends.
He liked making new friends, enjoyed having Chinese tea with friends and family, watching sports, travelling, and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Chao-Yu Liu Chen; his sons, Shang-Sheng Liu (Yu-Hua Tseng) and Shang-Hsien Liu (Ru-Jun Lian); his grandchildren, Brian Liu, Hui-Ci Liu, Hui-Hsuan Liu and Jasmine Liu; his siblings, Ming-Tang Liu, Su-Hui Liu, Mei-Hui Liu and the late Hang-Tang Liu, Rei-Tang Liu and Ken-Tang Liu; nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Man-Tang Liu's life at 12 pm on July 27, 2018 in Joyce Funeral Home Waltham. Cremation will follow at Newton Crematory, 791 Walnut Street, Newton.
顯考劉公諱名滿堂於公元二零一八年七月二十日（農曆六月初八）寅時於美國麻州牛頓市家中安詳離世距生於公元一九三八年十月一日（農曆八月八日）享壽八十歲謹擇於公元二零一八年七月二十七日（農曆六月十五日）星期五中午十二時假Joyce Funeral Home （245 Main St. , Waltham, MA 02453）舉行告別式隨即發引牛頓市火葬場火化。
擇日發引安座臺灣雲林縣大埤鄉水尾埔公墓。
