Marcia M. Luce

Waltham – Mrs. Marcia M. (MacStravic) Luce, of Waltham, died Friday November 1st, 2013 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was 78.

Marcia was born in Rochester, New York on December 12, 1934, a daughter of the late James and Jane (Thomas) MacStravic. She earned her liberal arts degree from Cornell in 1957 and later her teacher's certificate from Wheelock College. For over thirty years she worked at the Waltham Public Library as the department head of Tech Services. An excellent cook and a devoted mother, she was always present for her kid's extra-curricular activities. When possible she and her children liked to travel, having recently taken a river cruise down the Danube.

She is survived by her children, Charles M. "Mike" Luce of Waterford, Michigan and Valerie Kuhns and her husband, Michael, of Studio City, California; her brothers, James MacStravic, Brian MacStravic, Joseph MacStravic and Scott MacStravic; her grandchildren, Heather Gavin and Alex Kuhns; her great-grandson Sean and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marcia's life by gathering in Christ Church, 750 Main Street, Waltham on Saturday November 9th, at 10 a.m. when her Funeral Service will be held. Burial will be private.
