Margaret "Auntie Peggy" (Boyle) Clements

Mrs. Margaret 'Auntie Peggie' (Boyle) Clements, of Waltham, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. She was 96.

Peggie was born in Moylough, County Galway, Ireland on October 4, 1912 to the late Thomas and Mary (Concannon) Boyle, and had lived most of her life in Waltham. She worked for over twenty five years for a lovely family as their cook in Cambridge Mass.

She was very proud of her Irish heritage and was devoted to her faith and to her family. Auntie Peggie was a talented homemaker, a great baker and never missed a chance to attend an Irish dance. Her gentle smile and positive spirit will be greatly missed.

The wife of the late Robert L. Clements, she leaves her nieces and nephews and their families, James Costello of Wilton, Connecticut, Mary Leavitt of Hyde Park, Helen Lamb of Canton, Catherine McCarthy of Norwood, Margaret Failla of Waltham, Paddy Crehan, Anthony Crehan, Catherine Dillon, and Patrick Donnellan, all of Ireland and many grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and lifetime friends.

Peggie was a sister of the late Helen Crehan, Jenny Costello, Delia Murphy, Katie Boyle, Mollie Donnellan, Tommy Boyle, James Boyle, Patrick Boyle, and Michael Boyle and aunt of the late Jean Diamond.

Family and friends will honor and remember Peggie's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
