Margaret R. Gardiner

Waltham - Mrs. Margaret R. 'Margo' (Brennan) Gardiner, of Waltham, formerly of Newton Centre and East Dennis, died suddenly Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 74. Born in Lexington, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Buckley) Brennan, Margo was raised in Newton Centre. She graduated from Sacred Heart School in Newton and from Regis College in Weston. She later earned her master's degree and worked toward her doctorate in psychology at Boston College. She lived in Newton before moving to Waltham eleven years ago and had been a school teacher in the Waltham school system. Margo will be missed by her family very much. Margo leaves her husband of forty-five years, John T. Gardiner, her children, Margo 'Maggie' Gardiner of Portland, Oregon, Sean Gardiner and his wife, Sally, of Cranford, New Jersey, William Gardiner of Bath, Maine and David Gardiner of Newton; and her grandchildren Morrigan, Molly and Jack. She was also a sister of the late William Brennan, Mary Brennan, Joan Drane and Patricia Heffernan. The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Ignatius of Loyola Church, 28 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Chidren's Reasearch Hospital, 501 St.Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
