Mrs. Margaret M. (Spatea) Howley of Portage, Michigan, formerly of Waltham died Monday, October 12, 2015 in the Alamo Nursing Home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was 83. Mrs. Howley was born in Worcester on February 18, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Margarita (Amato) Spatea.
Margaret lived in Waltham for most of her life before moving to Michigan two years ago.
She was a clerk at Zayre's Department Store which became Ames Department Store in Waltham for many years. Margaret also was a housekeeper in private homes. She retired several years ago.
Margaret was the wife of the late James J. "Hucker" Howley and is survived by her son, John G. Howley and his wife, Tricia, of Portage, Michigan and her grandson, Ryan Howley.
Family and friends will honor and remember Margaret's life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday, October 22nd, from 4-8 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Friday at 9:30 am before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
