Margaret M. Munsey

Waltham – Mrs. Margaret M. ‘Gigi’ (Martowski) Munsey, of Waltham, died Friday, September 17, 2010 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. She was 95.

Margaret was born in Waltham on November 24, 1914, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Kaminska) Martowski, and had been a lifelong resident. She and her late husband, Henry F. Munsey, owned and operated Needham Jewelry Store for many years.

She had been active at the Waltham Senior Center and enjoyed knitting, cooking and baking for her family. She was also a talented polka dancer.

Margaret leaves her daughters, Marilyn H. Munsey of Waltham and Jan L. Vogel and her husband, Bob, of Dedham; her grandchildren, Mike Munsey, Deb Vogel, Doug Vogel, and Tom Vogel and six great-grandchildren.

She was also the sister of the late Frank and Bill Martowski.

Family and friends will honor and remember Margaret’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Monday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
