Margaret V. “Margie” (Statkun) Oliveri, of Belmont, died at home with family by her side on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was 92.
Margie was born on June 13, 1932 in Simpson, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna (Luczon) Statkun. She lived in Simpson and Carbondale, Pennsylvania before moving to Binghamton, New York and later to Erie, Pennsylvania.
For more than twenty years she was a hair salon/clothing boutique owner and stylist while living in Erie. Marge was an ambitious, creative, entrepreneur and a wonderful mother to four daughters.
When she was in her early fifties, Margie moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she operated a successful child care agency for thirty years. Following her retirement she moved to Belmont to be closer to family.
She leaves her children, Laura A. Oliveri and her son, Mitchel Borgstrom of San Diego, California, Jacquelyn M. Oliveri and her partner, Michael Palomo, and Barbara A. Oliveri, all of Belmont; her grandchildren, Alexandria Milinazzo and her husband, Peter, Mia Kasper and her fiancé, Patrick Shine, and her lifelong friend, Eileen Fleischman.
She was also the mother of the late Rebecca A. Kasper; former wife and dear friend of the late Frank J. Oliveri and a sister of the late Edmund and Al Statkun, Jeanne Dingee, Violet Gross and Pauline Bruno.
Family and friends will honor and remember Margie’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
