Waltham – Mrs. Margaret M. 'Peg' (McCusker) Weagle, of Waltham, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 90.
Peg was born in Newton on March 8, 1924, a daughter of the late Hugh and Agnes (Mayhew) McCusker and had lived in Waltham for most of her life.
She worked for a number of years as a legal secretary for Attorney John Collins in Waltham and later became an executive secretary at the Raytheon Company. Never one to sit idly Peg then began a career working at Filene's Basement, working until she was 85.
She found her greatest joy caring for her grandchildren and exploring the country and the world traveling with her sisters.
The wife of the late William E. Weagle she leaves her children, Debra M. Foti-Flynn and her husband, Thomas, and Faith M. Weagle, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Shannon Juliano and her husband, George, Kaitlyn Flynn and Kristen Buckley and her husband, Paul; her great-grandchildren, Lily, Anthony, Joseph and Ella Juliano; Jack, Charlie and Maggie Buckley and Emily Flynn; her sisters, Helen LaHaise of Waltham and Joan Walsh of South Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews.
Peg was also the mother of the late Mary Weagle, mother-in-law of the late Domenic Foti and a sister of the late Richard and Peter McCusker, Mary Anne Barry and Kathleen Burrie.
Family and friends will honor and remember Peg's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, November 12th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
