Marguerite M. Aucion

Waltham – Sr. Marguerite M. Aucoin, R.C.E. of Waltham, died Friday October 7, 2005 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 81.

Born in Newton, a daughter of the late Simon and Christina (Chiasson) Aucoin, she graduated from Waltham Senior High School and from Boston College. She also earned her masters degree in educational administration at Boston College.

Sr. Marguerite entered the Religious of Christian Education congregation in August of 1943. She taught at Jeanne d’Arc Academy in Milton, Immaculata Catholic School in Hendersonville, North Carolina and from 1948 until 1970 at Saint Pierre’s School in Waltham. She served as principal at Saint Pierre’s from 1964 until 1970. After that she served for thirteen years as Religious Education Coordinator at Saint Joseph’s Church in Waltham where she also did volunteer work for many years after retirement.

She leaves one brother, John Aucoin of Fort Worth, Florida, two sisters, Doris Dunham of Waltham, Lucille O’Sullivan of North Easton and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Joseph Aucoin.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.

Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
