Hudson – Mrs. Marguerite C. "Margie" (Gostanian) Cronis, of Hudson, died Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the Reservoir Center in Marlborough. She was 89.
Margie was born in Boston on May 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Garabed and Melina (Zarmanian) Gostanian, and was raised in Roxbury. In 1968 she moved with her family to Watertown and in 1993 she made Hudson her home.
She was a graduate of the High School for Practical Arts in Boston and after that graduated from the Shepard Gill School of Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Margie worked as a licensed practical nurse for a number of years at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. Before that she worked at Parker Hill Hospital in Boston, Charlesgate Manor Nursing Home in Watertown and at Belmont Manor Nursing Home.
After her move to Hudson she became a member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church. She joined the Hudson Senior Center where she became very active and involved in all of the group's activities. Margie loved trying her luck at Foxwoods where she really did enjoy the 'wonder of it all' and was an avid movie watcher at home. It was her love of dancing that most who knew her well will remember most fondly about her. "Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another". Marge did both.
The wife of the late Charles Cronis she leaves her children, Charles R. Cronis and his wife, Helen, of Marlborough, Peter Cronis, Steven Cronis and his wife, Rita, all of Newton, Paul Cronis of Hudson and Andrew Cronis and his wife, Amy, of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Charles C. Cronis, Steven G. Cronis, Meaghan E. Cronis and Taylor M. Cronis and many nieces and nephews.
Margie was also the sister of the late Nicholas and Andrew Gostanian.
Family and friends will honor and remember Margie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, September 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
