Maria Stanton

Waltham – Mrs. Maria Stanton, of Waltham, died on Monday, April 17th 2017 in Wingate of Weston. She was 89.

Maria was born in Westbrook, Maine on March 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Sebastian and Leontine (Landry) Savoy and graduated from Waltham High School in 1946. She was a kind and giving person who always put her family first.

She was the wife of the late John M. Stanton and is survived by her children, Michael J. Stanton and his late wife, Patti, of Westwood, Lynne M. Stanton of Waltham and Lisa M. Martin and her husband, John, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Kelli Stanton, David Freeman and his wife, Tara, Jeffrey Freeman and Josh, Aimee, Kristina and Shelly Martin; her sister, Lillian Small of Dallas, Texas and also leaves several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Maria's life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday April 20th, from 5 to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Jude's Church, 147 Main St., Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
