Waltham - Mrs. Marie T. (Poirier) Chiasson, of Waltham, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at Metrowest Medical Center in Natick. She was 91. Born in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, a daughter of the late Xavier and Laura (Chiasson) Poirier, Marie was a homemaker and had lived in Waltham since 1961. She was a past president of the Women's Auxiliary at the French American Victory Club in Waltham, a former member of the Women's Guild and a CCD teacher at Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham. Marie also enjoyed dancing and cooking. Marie leaves her husband, Gustave J. Chiasson; her children, Bernie Chiasson and his wife, Lucille, of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Lorraine M. Rankin of Waltham, Gerry Chiasson and his wife, Sheila, of Framingham, and Ann C. Hebert and her husband, Greg, of Waltham; four sisters, Catherine Vienneau and Madeline Cormier both of Florida, Beatrice Graham of Ontario, Canada, and Pauline Fergurson of Nova Scotia, Canada; three brothers, Albert Poirier of Nova Scotia, Canada, Johnny Poirier of Ontario, Canada, and Simon Poirier of Waltham; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Henry Poirier, Gerard Poirier, Jeanette Cormier, Margaret Savoie and Lorraine Bourque. The Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
