Mrs. Marie P. (Coye) Curtis of Waltham died Friday, March 7, 2014, in the Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 85. Mrs. Curtis was born in Waltham on July 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Amanda V. (Pelletier) Coye.
She was an administrator for General Medical in Waltham until her retirement. Marie was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School and a lifelong parishioner of Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Marie was the wife of the late Joseph W. Curtis, the mother-in-law of the late Tony Mastroianni and Michael Whelan, and the sister of the late Edward "Ted" Coye and Louise White.
She is survived by her children, Susan M. Thackeray of Sanford ME, Ellen M. Whelan of Ashland, Kathleen M. Carell and her husband, Tim, of Acton, Virginia A. Aloia and her husband, Joseph, of Madisonville TN, Elizabeth A. Aucoin and her husband, Roger, of Wynantskill NY, and Jane M. Renna of Waltham; her sisters, Evelyn Coye of Scarborough, ME and Margaret Williamson of Hudson; thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marie's life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 10th, at 10:30 am in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
