Marie R. O'Donnell

Woburn – Mrs. Marie R. (Murphy) O'Donnell, of Woburn, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Hearthstone at Choate in Woburn. She was 90.

Marie was born in Cambridge on September 10, 1920, a daughter of the late Cornelius and Elizabeth (Doherty) Murphy, and had lived in Belmont, Plymouth and in Waltham before moving to Hearthstone five years ago.

The wife of the late Joseph P. O'Donnell, she leaves her children, Kevin F. O'Donnell and his wife, Gail, and Stephen P. O'Donnell, all of Waltham, Joseph P. O'Donnell, Jr. and his companion, Gail Cranshaw, of South Boston and Brian T. O'Donnell and his companion, Jacqueline Finn, of Weymouth. Marie was also "Nana Lovey" to Michael, Stephen, Scott, Ryan, Matthew, Keith and Meaghan O'Donnell and the loving great-grandmother of Laney, Shamus, Emily, Jared, Madison, Devin and Riley O'Donnell.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, August 25th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
