Waltham – Mrs. Marie (Colombo) Pasciscia, of Waltham, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 in her home. She was 90.
Marie was born in Jamaica Plain on April 10, 1920, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Warner) Colombo and had lived in Jamaica Plain and in Brighton before moving to Waltham in 1964. She was a United States Navy veteran of World War II where she served for three years as an Aviation Machinist Mate.
Until her retirement she worked for many years for the New England Telephone Company. Before that Marie worked in the millinery department at Grover Cronin’s Department Store on Moody Street in Waltham. Marie was also a former member of the Cornelia dei Gracchi Lodge No. 1583 of the Order of Sons of Italy in Watertown.
The wife of the late Antonio Pasciscia, she leaves her children, Joseph A. Pasciscia and his wife, Susan, and Marylou Murphy, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Frank Murphy and Anthony, Joseph and Mariel Pasciscia; her brother, Paul Colombo of Storrs, Connecticut and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marie’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
