Marie G. Shaughnessy

Waltham – Mrs. Marie G. (Hines) Shaughnessy, of Waltham, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her home. She was 64.

Marie was born in Waltham on March 21, 1947, a daughter of the late Robert and Germaine (Albert) Hines, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a 1965 graduate of Waltham High School. Until her retirement she worked for thirty-four years in the telecommunications office at Brandeis University in Waltham. Marie’s greatest joy came from spending time with her six grandchildren at home, on the Cape and on vacations in Naples, Florida.

She leaves her husband, John R. ‘Jack’ Shaughnessy; her children, Kristen L. Libertini and her husband, Angelo, of Waltham and John F. Shaughnessy and his wife, Rachel, of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Michael, Robert and Kathryn Libertini and Brittany, Ryan and Jack Shaughnessy; her sisters and brother, Barbara Murphy and her husband, Paul, of Waltham, Robert Hines and his wife, Wanda, of Chelmsford and Ann Cavicchi of Waltham and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marie’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, May 30th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
