Waltham - Mrs. Marie Esther (Cormier) Sherry, of Waltham, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Caritas Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center, Brighton. She was 100. Esther was born in Waltham on August 25, 1909, a daughter of the late Edmond and Alice (Doiron) Cormier. She had worked at the Waltham Watch Factory and, in later years, at BLH Electronics in Waltham until her retirement. Esther was a member of the Waltham Senior Citizens and their bowling league. She was the wife of the late Bernard P. Sherry, the mother of the late Rita M. Steadman, the grandmother of the late Sean Bryan Steadman, the sister of the late Sr. Rita M. Cormier of the Sisters of Charity of Convent Station NJ, Margaret M. Hart, Theodore J. Cormier, Clifford J. Cormier, and Edmond F. Cormier, Jr., and aunt of the late Maureen Hart Duggan. Esther is survived by her nieces and nephews, Patricia Melanson of Billerica, John Hart of Hanover, Patti Duggan Kane of Millville, and Linda Hazel of Somerville; her son-in-law, Willard G. Steadman, III of Danvers; her grandnephew, Michael Melanson of Dracut and her dear godchild, Maureen Melanson Arena of Hudson, NH. Family and friends will honor and remember Esther's life by gathering in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
