Marlborough – Mrs. Marie E. (Quagliozzi) Squires, of Marlborough, formerly of Waltham, died at the Reservoir Center in Marlborough on Friday, December 16, 2016. She was 83.
Marie was born on April 17, 1933 in Waltham, a daughter of the late Gennaro "Joe" and Anna May (Aucoin) Quagliozzi. She lived in Waltham before moving to Salem, New Hampshire where she was a resident for more than fifty years.
She attended Saint Mary's High School and graduated from Waltham High School. Marie was a long time employee of Digital Equipment Corporation in Salem, New Hampshire. She was an avid reader and baseball fan, and particularly enjoyed watching the Braves, from the time they were a Boston team to their present day home in Atlanta.
The wife of the late Albert J. Squires, she leaves her children, Michael J. Nisbet and his wife, Jeanne, of Marlborough, Paula M. Hebebrand and her husband, Jon, of Rancho Mirage, California, James A. Squires and his wife, Debra, of West Roxbury; her grandchildren, Dylan Hogan, Lauren Spang, Michael K. Nisbet, Alex Nisbet and Sam Squires; her great-grandchildren, Ethan Hogan, Lennon Hogan, Stella Hogan and Jarrett Spang; her brothers and sister, Joseph Quagliozzi and Carole Langley, both of Waltham and William Quagliozzi of Billerica and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Marie was predeceased by her son, Kevin J. Nisbet, her grandson, Troy Hogan and her sister, Anne (Gentile) Hurst.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, December 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
