Waltham – Mrs. Marie R. (Giuliano) (Vinciullo) Vitale, of Waltham, died on Sunday January 26, 2014 in Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 97.
Marie was born in Waltham on December 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Frank and Angelina (Giminarda) Giuliano. She was a lifelong resident of Waltham and until retirement worked as a receptionist in the Radiology Department at Waltham Hospital. She was very active at her home parish, Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, and had been a Eucharistic minister and past president of the Lady's Guild. She also helped start the PTA at the former Newhall School.
She loved to stay in touch with family and friends and sent old fashioned letters to everyone but was also on Facebook, playing Words with Friends when she couldn't sleep. She was the ultimate host and was happiest when her family was together under one roof. Growing up the entire family would sleep at her house on Christmas Eve so they could all share in the joy morning would bring the grandkids.
She was the wife of the late Attilio D. Vinciullo and Alphonse Vitale and is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Seaquist and her husband, David, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Jaye Foucher of Thornton, New Hampshire, David Foucher and his husband, Kevin Kline, of Dedham and Dan Foucher and his wife, Dawn, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; her great-granddaughter, Kenley Kline-Foucher and also leaves several cousins.
She was also the sister of the late Angelina Vallucci.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marie's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, January 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
