Marie J. (White) Woodside, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister of Waltham, died Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, after a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. She was 64.
Born December 20, 1953 in Waltham, she was the daughter of Elizabeth A. (Kelly) White and the late Lawrence F. White. Born, raised and educated in Waltham, Marie graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1971 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Newbury College in Brookline. Marie married the love of her life, Robert (Rob) I. Woodside at St. Mary's Church in Waltham on July 28, 2012. Together they lived life to the fullest and made the most of every day.
Marie was all about family…..they were her main priority and focus. She rarely missed a sporting event, dance recital or concert. She was an avid New England sports fan, but especially loved Fenway Park, the Red Sox and Jason Varitek. She grew up spending summers on The Cape, so the beach was her definite "Happy Place", with Aruba being her favorite beach destination. She would call herself One Fine Irish Man, never too shy to belt out an Irish tune, dance a jig or play the spoons. Her laugh was unique and infectious with a personality to match.
Marie worked in accounting for Hologic Corporation in Marlborough for eleven years and previously worked for Airius Corporation in Framingham for over 20 years. Marie was very involved in the Waltham community. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Church and Waltham Crossings. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish Council and a Board Member of St. Mary's Apartments. She was one of the first female members of the Waltham Lions Club, and together with her husband Rob, was very active in many Lions Club projects.
In addition to her husband Rob, she leaves her mother, Elizabeth A. White of Waltham, Rob's children, Nicholas Woodside and his wife, Celeste of Waltham, Adam Woodside and his wife, Melanie of Hudson; her siblings, Larry White (Deborah Wessell) of Nashua, New Hampshire, Susan Travers and her husband, Joseph of Bourne, Linda Cunningham and her husband Richie, of Hudson, and Clare Kidling and her husband Bruce, of Bourne; her mother-in-law, Anne Woodside of Weston; her brother-in-law, Fred Woodside and his wife, Linda of Weston; her sister-in-law, Maria (Termie) Freitag of Newington, Connecticut; Rob and Marie's grandchildren Neko and Milo Woodside of Waltham.
