Mrs. Marienne E. (Houston) Rufo, of Wareham, formerly of Waltham, died at home on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She was 68.

Marienne was born in Boston on May 22, 1956, a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Cullinane) Houston, and had been a lifelong Waltham resident before retiring to Wareham a year ago. She was a graduate of Waltham High School.

She worked at Brandeis University in Waltham before going to work for eighteen years at Dunkin Donuts on River Street where she made many lifelong friends among customers and staff. After that Marienne was a home health aide until her retirement.

She leaves her husband, Guy R. Rufo; her children, John F. Rufo of Sudbury, Cory M. Rufo of Ayer and Katie M.M. Rufo (James Gaudet) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Eerie John Rufo, Alyssa Christina Lopez, Michael Robert Rufo and Camdyen Carter Rufo; her brother, Kenneth Houston (Nicole) of Mashpee and her sister, Adria Boynton of Bradenton, Florida.

Marienne was also a sister of the late Steven Houston, Joseph Houston and Margaret Houston.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marienne’s life by gathering for an evening wake on Friday, August 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Following cremation, burial will be private.
