Mrs. Marilyn J. (Gaines) Bertini, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024 after an illness. She was 89.
Marilyn Jean Gaines was born December 7, 1934 in Waltham a daughter of the late George and Viola (Dodge) Gaines. Raised and educated in Waltham she was a graduate of Waltham High School. Marilyn was married to the late Albert E. Bertini who died July 8, 2016.
They lived in Waltham, East Sandwich and Middleborough before she moved to New Horizons Assisted Living in Marlborough.
Marilyn worked as a stenographer for the Kimball and Sterite Lumber Company in Waltham for many years.
She leaves her sister, Beverly M. Jones and her husband, Walter of Watertown; her niece and goddaughter, Cheryl M. King and her husband, Ken of Acton; also survived by many nieces & nephews; great-nieces & nephews and their families and her dear friends, Bill and Cathy Rullo of Middleborough.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marilyn’s life by gathering on Monday, April 1st at Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham where her graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. There are no calling hours.
