Waltham – Miss Marilyn Cerniglia, of Waltham, died Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Milton. She was 75.
Marilyn was born in New York City, a daughter of the late Joseph S. Cerniglia, M.D. and Mary L. (DeBuono) Cerniglia. She graduated from Weston High School and the University of Miami. She taught second grade for two years in Florida before moving back up to Massachusetts. There, she worked for the Polaroid Corporation in the development of the SX70 camera. After that she worked in the human resources departments of Mount Auburn Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and at Lahey Clinic.
She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and loving person . . . she lived to help others. Marilyn loved to shop, cook, share her recipes and entertain family and friends. She was known as a gift giver and never forgot a birthday. She also loved to travel.
Marilyn leaves her sister, Linda Curran and her husband, Jack, of South Weymouth; two nieces, Courtney Bulman (Ryan) and Rebecca Kekula (Ryan). She was the beloved GAM to Brooke and Parker Bulman, and Jackson Kekula. She also leaves her many dear friends.
She was also the sister of the late Joseph S. Cerniglia and the niece of the late Francis DeBuono and Ida Mae DeBuono.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass for Marilyn at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 16th in Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston Center. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
