Shrewsbury - Marilyn I. (DeLouis) Harris died on July 9, 2023 at The Lutheran Home in Worcester with her daughter, Janet by her side. She was 91.
Marilyn born in Wakefield on October 7, 1931 a daughter of the late Robert and Marion (Phipps) DeLouis. A graduate of Melrose High School she later married Arthur Harris in November of 1954 and after 66 years of marriage Art died May 15, 2021.
In addition to staying at home to raise her children Marilyn owned and operated a health food store in Shrewsbury Center for several years.
In the early days in Melrose she loved figure skating and while at home on Founders Road she loved tending to her gardens. She and Art took pride in their property and if not on the golf course they were working and enjoying their yard and gardens.
In addition to her beloved Art, she was predeceased by their two sons, Robert A. Harris (1985) and Richard L. Harris (1991) and her brother, Robert DeLouis.
She leaves her daughter, Janet L. Harris (Jon Hanson) of Jefferson; siblings, Ralph DeLouis (Patricia) of New Jersey, Norma Gorman of Florida and Barbara Trainor of Massachusetts; also survived by nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor Marilyn’s life by gathering on Thursday, July 13th at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake Street, Peabody for her graveside service to be held at 11:00 a.m. There are no calling hours.
