Waltham – Mrs. Marilyn J. (Veno) Walsh, of Waltham, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Waltham. She was 80.
Marilyn was born in Waltham on August 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Henry and Marion (Hayes) Veno. A lifelong Waltham resident, she graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in 1948. She worked for many years at Beckton Dickinson Company in Waltham. She loved to read and was happiest when vacationing with her friends and family along the coast of York Beach, Maine.
Marilyn was the wife of the late Richard A. Walsh and mother-in-law of the late Karen Walsh.
She leaves her children, David R. Walsh and his wife, Diane, of Waltham, Kathyrn L. Mullins and her husband, Michael Cincotta, of Cape Neddick, Maine, Jane M. Walsh and her companion, Robert Dizer, of Waltham, John A. Walsh and his wife, Jean, of Methuen and Michael E. Walsh of Waltham; her son-in-law, Stephen P. Walsh of Waltham; her siblings, Joseph Veno and his wife, Shirley, of York Beach, Maine, Robert Veno of Falmouth and Ethel Kelly of Watertown; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Crystal, Colleen, Richard, Jacquelyn, Meghann, Rebecca and Rachel; her great-grandson, Nicholas, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marilyn’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, January 9th, from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
