Marion L. (Olivo) Piantedosi

Waltham – Mrs. Marion L. (Olivo) Piantedosi, of Waltham, died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 92.

Marion was born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rose (Acri) Olivo, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School.

Until her retirement she worked as a bookkeeper for Kanis Engineering in Waltham. Before that she held the same position for Vittone Plumbing and Heating and J.S. Hayes Construction in Waltham. For a number of years she was also the office manager for her father's business, V. Olivo & Sons of Waltham.

Marion's husband of sixty-six years, Gildo "John" Piantedosi, died January 24, 2012.

She leaves her children, Anthony J. Piantedosi and his wife, Susan, and Peter J. Piantedosi and his wife, Deborah, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Paul Piantedosi and his wife, Maria, of Waltham, Brian Piantedosi and his wife, Kelly, of Washington, DC, Mark Piantedosi and his wife, Allison, of Easton, Matthew Piantedosi and David Piantedosi, both of Waltham; her great-grandchildren, Sidney and Emi Piantedosi; her sister, Johann Swenson of Gloucester; her sister-in-law, Helen Olivo of Maine and many nieces and nephews.

Marion was also a sister of the late Rose Carulli, Domenic "Mickey" Olivo, and James Olivo.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marion's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, May 18th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
