Waltham – Marjorie L. (Kerins) Cusano, 86, of Waltham, gently passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013. She was born on February 16, 1927 in Boston. She spent her childhood years in Belmont and in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School. Her career spanned many years in the electronics industry; employed at corporations such as Raytheon, Clevite, Inc. UniTrode, and retiring from Thornton Electronics in 1983.
Upon her retirement she relocated with her late husband Marcellini "Mike" Cusano to Jacksonville, Florida. During that time she was very active with her husband in the Albert J. Russell Shriner's Lodge/ Morocco Temple, Jacksonville, the Ambassador's Association, Scottish Rite, York Rite (Boston) and the Woman's Association of the Oriental Band, of which she was a past president.
Marjorie was well known for her skill and passion in all forms of needlework craft design, crocheting, and quilt making. She was a skilled dressmaker and for a period of several years operated her own business in this field.
Marjorie was the wife of the late Marcellini "Mike" Cusano for 58 years and the mother of Ann Marie Snelling and her husband, Norman, of Mechanicsville, VA; Michael A. Cusano of Lowell; Marcella J. Cusano of Waltham; David J. Cusano and his wife, Kathleen, of Waltham; Raymond M. Cusano and his, wife, Beverly, of Jacksonville, FL and Joseph G. Cusano of Ayer. She is survived by her brother, Ralph E. Kerins and his, wife, Marie of Hudson and William Trycinski of Haines City, FL; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, Maurice A. Kerins, Jr. of New York City.
The entire family wishes to extend sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waltham. Their kindness and dedication to the care and support of Marjorie will always be remembered.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marjorie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, September 9th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 12 Noon on Tuesday when her funeral service will be held. Committal services will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be dedicated in Marjorie's memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Boston, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
