Marjorie E. Doyle

November 30, 1943 — February 20, 2014

Waltham – Mrs. Marjorie E. (Cannistraro) Doyle, of Waltham, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 70.

Marjorie was born in Waltham on November 30, 1943, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Marjorie E. (Leishman) Cannistraro, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and had attended Boston University and Westbrook Junior College.

Until her retirement Marjorie worked as claims supervisor for Amica Insurance Company at their Wellesley office.

The job she liked best however was being a good wife and mother as her husband and sons can attest. In fact she loved that job and was quick to let you know how happy she was to try her best at it. When the boys got married and the grandchildren came along her joy, and her family, was complete. One of her many accomplishments was to hold the distinction of being the first female baseball coach in the history of the Warrendale Little League.

Marjorie leaves her husband of forty-seven years, Kenneth J. Doyle; her children, Kenneth J. Doyle Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Woburn, Craig M. Doyle and his wife, Michelle, of Windham, New Hampshire, Michael J. Doyle of South Boston and Matthew J. Doyle and his wife, Kristin, of Sudbury; her grandchildren, Sydney, Reese, Kaitlyn, Regan, Delaney, Kelsey, Matthew and Nathan Doyle; her brothers, Donald M. Cannistraro and his wife, Janice, of Northville, Michigan and David R. Cannistraro of Falmouth and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Beverlee C. Kalagher.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marjorie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, February 24th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 12 Noon on Tuesday when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.

Memorial donations may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
