Mrs. Marjorie F. (Ellis) Hartman, of Waltham, died Sunday, March 10, 2024 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 94.
Marjorie was born in Waltham on June 12, 1929, a daughter of the late George and Florence (Hillier) Ellis. A graduate of Waltham High School, she went to work as an executive secretary at the Waltham Public Library and enjoyed a seventy-plus year career until her retirement.
She was an avid New England Patriots fan and had been a lifetime member of Christ Church on Main Street.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, David P. Hartman, her brother and sister, George Ellis and Dorothy Pittman (late Charles), in-laws Frederick Hartman, Richard Hartman, William T. "Frank" Hartman, and Elizabeth Pederson.
She leaves many nieces and nephews and their families including Susan H. Ellis of South Portland, Maine and Cheryl E. White (Don) of Naples, Florida; her great-niece and nephew, Courtney Campbell (Matthew) and Kent White (Heidi); her great-great nieces and nephews, Morgan and Hope Campbell, Lindsey White, Colin Campbell, Camden White, and Heather Campbell; her brother and sister-in-law, Frances Hartman and Ralph Hartman; and her dear friend and neighbor, Roger Jacob.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 11 a.m. in Christ Church Episcopal, 750 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
