Marjorie L. Clark made a lasting impression on just about everyone she met. A proud daughter of an Irishman, her terrific sense of humor always made any situation better. Fiercely loyal to those she loved, she always made sure to keep in touch with all of her relationships, old and new.
Marjorie L. Doheny was born in Waltham on January 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Dennis Doheny of Ireland and Rachel (Fulton) Doheny of Nova Scotia. Following her 1949 graduation from the former St. Charles School in Waltham, she went to work as a secretary at Raytheon. There, she met her future husband, Charles Clark and the pair married at St. Charles Borromeo Church on September 13, 1953. They shared more than 39 wonderful years together until his death in May of 1993.
Charlie and Margie made Waltham their home for a time before moving to Framingham in 1961. There they would continue to raise their growing family. While she loved her newfound community, she always considered Waltham her home. She spoke fondly of her memories of walking down Moody Street, working at Woolworth’s, and meeting her friends at Candyland’s. She had the gift of gab and was always so excited to catch up or chat with all of her friends and family.
Margie had a stunning mezzo-soprano singing voice and loved music. She had quite the eclectic taste in music; from opera to Tom Jones, to rock, (with this her house was never quiet). Once her children had grown a little older, she held a part-time job at a local record store where she made friends and loved helping the customers.
She made many happy memories from her youth of taking vacations to York Beach in Maine and continued the tradition with her own children and grandchildren. Margie also had a love for animals, especially cats. She supported many animal rescue organizations and was a defender of animal rights. An avid Celtics and Patriots fan, she never missed a game during the Dave Cowens and Tom Brady eras. She will always be loved and missed by those who were privileged to know her.
Marjorie died on Tuesday, November 12th in MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham following a period of declining health.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is reunited in Heaven with her brother and sisters, Phyllis Doheny, Madelyn Linnehan, Mildred Doheny, Marie Hart, William Doheny, and Dorothy McGovern.
She leaves her children, Christian C. Clark of Framingham, Cheryl C. Clark of Medway, Nancy L. Hamilton of Ashland, and Andrea J. Clark of Orlando, Florida; her grandsons, Nevin C. Hamilton of Ashland and Nolan S. Hamilton (Melina) of Medford; her great-granddaughter, Fia V. Hamilton of Medford; her sister Patricia Snow of Pennsylvania; her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Roggeveen (Richard) and Constance Veneto; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
