Marjorie E. Lord

Mrs. Marjorie E. (Slater) Lord of Waltham died Monday, July 11, 2005 in the Meadow Green Nursing Center in Waltham. She was 84. Born in Waterbury, CT, Mrs. Lord was a Waltham resident since 1975. She had worked at the Waltham Hospital for seventeen years and, for ten of those years, she was the personnel director, retiring in 1984. Mrs. Lord was a graduate of the University of Conneticut in 1949 and a member of the Piety Corner Club. Mrs. Lord is survived by her husband of fifty six years, Philip E. Lord; her children, Lynn E. Lord of Waltham, Wesley K. Lord and his wife Mary of So. Glastonbury, CT; and James F. Lord of Florida; her grandchild, Timothy Lord of Florida; her sister, Carolyn Parnigoni of CT; her brother, Frederick Slater of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Stocker) Slater. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 am in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
