Sandwich - Mrs. Marjorie L. (Duhamel) Walsh, of Sandwich, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich. She was 95. Marjorie was born in Spencer on May 3, 1914, a daughter of the late Aime and Rose (Collette) Duhamel, and was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer. She moved to Waltham in 1946 and had worked for many years as a teller at Waltham Savings Bank. She was also a longtime member of Saint Jude Church Ladies Sodality and she enjoyed playing bridge with family and friends. After living in Waltham for fifty-six years she moved to Sandwich seven years ago. The wife of the late Walter A. Walsh and mother of the late Joanne W. Shepter, she leaves her daughter, Janet D. Herterick of Sandwich; her grandchildren, Carole Hurd, Kathleen Aiken, Brian Herterick and Joseph Shepter; 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Annette Wine and Elaine Lettic. Family and friends will honor and remember Marjorie�s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery in Spencer. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
