Waltham - Mrs. Marlana 'Maria' (Buckingham) Culbert of Waltham died Sunday August 7, 2005 in her home. She was 62. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she worked for eighteen years as an administrator for Draper Labs in Cambridge and also worked for many years for Buckingham Personnel Services in Norwood. Marlana was a 1978 graduate of Northeastern University and was inducted as Epsilon of the Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society. She was also a volunteer for many years for HealthCare Dimensions Hospice and also at a women's homeless shelter in Cambridge. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Waltham Women of the Moose, a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, as well as an avid traveler. She was the former wife of the late Nicholas Chagaris and daughter of the late Walter Buckingham She is survived by one daughter, Nicole P. MacDonald and her husband James of Waltham; her mother, Ann (Simonetti) Buckingham of Norwood; two grandchildren, Kevin and Katherine MacDonald; and two brothers, Walter Buckingham, Jr. of Brimfield and Gregory Buckingham of Norwood. A Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to Healthcare Dimensions, 48 Woerd Avenue, Waltham, MA 02453.
