Natick - Marlene A. Kaufman, of Natick, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in her home. She was 83. Marlene was born in Waltham on May 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Beckwith) Kaufman.
She lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Natick thirty years ago. In her teen years she performed as a tap dancer with her troupe for the USO. As an adult her various jobs included being a waitress at the former Piety Corner Restaurant in Waltham, QC Inspector for Raytheon and lastly she worked for CVS where she enjoyed interacting with her customers
Marlene loved her family and was the devoted "GiGi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved to spoil.
She is survived by her children, James M. Festog of Falmouth, Kenneth P. Festog and his wife, Susan, of Palm Bay FL, William H. Festog of Natick and Judith A. Festog-Baggs and her husband, Scott, of Natick; her grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Derek, Jamie, Samantha, and Travis Festog; her great grandchildren, Autumn, Logan, Aaralyn Marlena, and Shae Anne; and many nieces and nephews.
Marlene was the sister of the late Hazel Kaufman, Dorothea Dalrymple, Charles Kaufman Jr., Raymond Kaufman, Richard Kaufman, Robert Kaufman, Marjorie Brooks, Helen Weidel, and Donald Kaufman.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marlene's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, September 24th, from 5-8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham, where her graveside service will be held.
