Martha M. Bellan

Waltham - Mrs. Martha M. (Knowles) Bellan of Waltham died on Thursday, March 29, 2007 in the Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 72. Born in Thornton, New Hampshire, Mrs. Bellan had lived in Waltham for thirty-five years. She was the wife of the late John Bellan and the stepmother of the late John R. Bellan. Martha is survived by her brothers, Bill Knowles of Sanford, Maine and James Knowles of North Carolina; her sister, Lucy Stanley of Sanford, Maine, nine stepchildren and twenty-one stepgrandchildren. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
