Waltham – Miss Martha A. Fitzpatrick, of Waltham, died Friday, December 16, 2011 at her home. She was 73.
Martha was born in Newton on July 10, 1938, a daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Sykes) Fitzpatrick, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Framingham State College. As a teacher she began her career with the Watertown School Department, later teaching in Waltham and then returning to Watertown where she was still working.
She was a longtime member of the Waltham Historical Society and was the unofficial historian for Saint Jude Parish on Main Street. Martha also volunteered monthly for Bristol Lodge in Waltham and had been active with her reunion committees at Saint Mary's and at Framingham State.
Martha leaves her sister, Ellen M. Bandini of Canton; her nieces and nephews, MaryEllen Migre and Jeffrey Migre of Hanover, Daniel Bandini and Adrienne Wong of El Sobrante, California, Brian and Kelly Bandini of Stow, Julie and David Genova of Concord, Joanna and David Tonkovich of New Canaan, Connecticut and Paul and Jennifer Bolles of Merrimack, New Hampshire and 14 grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was also a sister of the late Paula G. Bolles.
Family and friends will honor and remember Martha's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, December 20th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
