On July 4, at 91 years, Martha C. Kolodzieski very peacefully left this life to continue her journey to heaven. She died at The Stanley Tippett Hospice Home in Needham after a short stay. Beloved Martha was predeceased by her parents, Teodozia and Stefan Kolodziekski, by her brother Stephen C. Kolodzieski, a lieutenant in the Waltham Fire Department, and by her sister Mary C. Muskalski. Martha was also predeceased by Bernard Coyle of Auburndale, her loving partner and companion for over fifty years.
Martha was born on January 10, 1925 in Waltham, MA, where she lived on Grove Street until a young adult. Upon graduation from Waltham High School in 1943, Martha worked in the personnel department at Raytheon Manufacturing Company. She retired after 50 years to care for her brother Stephen at their West Newton home.
She is survived by her sister Irene Lavallee of Cumberland, R.I. and by her nieces Joanne Guild (Paul), Mary-Louise Leary (John), Denise Lavallee (Larry), Sharon Magliozzi (Richard), Jeannine Lavallee and by her nephews David Lavallee (Pamela), Peter Lavallee (Donna), Stephen Lavallee (Dari), and Paul Lavallee (Ellen).
She also leaves her many loved grand nieces and nephews as well as many great grandnieces and nephews whom she cherished and her special caregiver of many years Tina Lionel.
Family and friends will honor and remember Martha's life by gathering to visit on Saturday, July 9th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery, Newton.
