Martha A. (Pickette) Morrissette

Waltham - Mrs. Martha A. Morrissette passed away at home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. She was 73.

Martha Ann Pickette was born December 23, 1945 in Waltham, MA a daughter of the late Romeo and Irene (Stankard) Pickette. Raised and educated in Waltham she graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1963. She married William C. Morrissette on July 26, 1970 in Saint Mary's Church.

Martha stayed at home to raise her family and she remained an active and integral part of their lives. She was a wonderfully supportive mother who willingly offered opinion and advice…welcomed or not because her family always knew she was their number one advocate and only wanted the best for them. She had a wonderful ability to connect and was the neighborhood mom that all the children loved.

Martha enjoyed trips to Foxwoods with Bill and vacations to her much loved York Beach in Maine. York always held a special place in her heart…it's where she first met Bill.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, Bill, she leaves their daughters, Kimberley A. McCarthy (Colin) of Framingham, Sheryl A. Morrissette of Waltham and Lee A. Morrissette (Robert McCullough) of Lexington; her grandchildren Robert, Cameron and Cory McCullough, Megan and Shane McCarthy and Jake Mullen; her siblings, T. Robert Pickette (Dot) of Northbridge, Richard Pickette (Barbara) of Maryland, Donald Pickette of California and the late Harvey Pickette of Magnolia and Sally Waitt (late Walter) of Watertown; also survived by many nieces & nephews including Sally Cook and Sharon Salvucci, both of Marlborough and Walter Waitt of Chicago.

Family and friends will honor and remember Martha's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, January 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial is private.
