Waltham - Mrs. Marthajane (Murray) Boudreau, of Waltham, died Monday, June 21, 2010 in her home. She was 72.
Marthajane was born in Medford on June 17, 1938, a daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Hamall ) Murray and had lived in Newton for many years before moving to Waltham thirty years ago. She was an avid tennis player and was a member of the Weston Racquet Club and the Waltham Racquet Club where she belonged on the Women’s Tennis Team. She was also a member of the Saint Augustine Tennis Club in Florida. Marthajane enjoyed summers in Nahant and loved being with her family and her husband, John A. Boudreau, Jr., with whom she celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on May 21, 2010.
In addition to her husband, Marthajane is survived by her children, Denise A. Gauvin and her husband, Lenny, Edward J. Boudreau and his wife, Deirdre, all of Waltham, Julie A. Moore and her husband, Cliff, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and Paul E. Boudreau of Newton; her grandchildren, Christopher, Derek, Justin, and James; her sister, Patricia Donovan of Waltham; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Murray of Simsbury, Connecticut and Cynthia A. Cook of Northampton; and her brother-in-law, James E. Boudreau of Newton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late John A. Boudreau, III and the sister of the late James and Jack Murray.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marthajane’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ann LaCasce and her caring professional staff at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute who cared for Marthajane for many years.
