Waltham – Mrs. Mary R. (Montagna) Cincotta, of Waltham, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 in her home surrounded by family.
Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Frances Montagna. As a teenager her family moved to Waltham and she had worked at both the Waltham Watch Factory and Grover Cronin's Department Store on Moody Street. In her spare time she enjoyed taking walks and attending the concerts on Waltham Common.
She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Cincotta and is survived by her children, Frances Wheeler and her husband, Jack, Bartolo Cincotta, Mary Bennett, all of Waltham, Diane Diminico and her husband, Angelo, of Woburn and Joseph Cincotta of Waltham; her grandchildren, Senta Buban and her husband, Jason, Dawn Bennett and her fiancé, Ryan Dilbarian, Anthony Diminico, Gina Diminico and her fiancé, Bob Gillespie and Nick Diminico; her great-grandchildren, Brittany Vasquez, Lea Lynch and Jason Lynch and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late James Cincotta and sister of the late Salvatore, Augustine, Joseph, Rose and Josephine.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, January 13th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
