Mary L. Cronin

Weston – Mrs. Mary L. ( Donelan ) Cronin of San Diego, California, formerly of Weston died Monday, October 18, 2004 in her home in California. She was 88. Born in Brookline, Mrs. Cronin had lived in Weston since 1955 until she moved to California four years ago. She was the secretary for the late Cardinal John Wright in Boston and Worcester as well as the Director of the CCD at Saint Julia’s Church in Weston for five years.

Mrs. Cronin was the former President of the Aristos Club, a women’s club in Boston.

Mrs. Cronin was the wife of the late Francis X. Cronin; the daughter of the late Thomas and Julia ( Blott ) Donelan; and the sister of the late Margaret Mannix, Emily Shugrue, Catherine Osborne, and Ellen Carty.

She is survived by her son, Robert F. Cronin of San Diego, CA; her sister, Esther Ahearn of Watertown; three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 23, at 9 am from the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 am. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Weston. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
