Waltham – Mrs. Mary M. (Enos) Davis, of Waltham, died on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in The Mariam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland. She was 91.
Mary was born in Waltham on January 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Adam M. and Mary E. (Lynch) Enos. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and had worked as an assembler at United Car Company in Burlington for over 34 years before retiring in 1986. Mary was a member of The Alliance for the Mentally Ill and was the recipient of various Community Awards from the Edinburg Center, formerly known as The Center for Health and Retardation. Her family describes her as being selfless, always taking care of others and putting herself last.
Mary leaves her children Robert F. Davis and his wife, Dianne, of Waltham, and Sheila J. Landry and her husband, Joseph, of Swanzey, New Hampshire; her sister Margaret P. Perry of Waltham; her grandchildren Jennifer Davis, Robbie Davis, Rhonda Babcock and Lisa LaFave; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Glen G. Davis and sister of the late Paul Enos, Adam Enos and Joseph Enos.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, December 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery.
