Waltham Mrs. Mary C. (Ryan) Donahue, of Waltham, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at her home. She was 87. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Sarah (McManama) Ryan, she had been a lifelong resident. Mary graduated from Saint Marys High School, Waltham and from Emmanuel College in Boston in 1941. Until her retirement, she had been a first grade teacher for many years at the Hardy and Northeast Elementary Schools in Waltham. Mary participated in the arts and ceramics programs offered at the Waltham Senior Citizens Center and had been a longtime volunteer at the Holy Innocents Chapel at the Walter E. Fernald School in Waltham. She was also a member of The Bridge Club in Waltham. The wife of the late Austin T. Donahue, she leaves her children, Patricia M. Mullin and her husband, Bernard, Sheila D. King and her husband, Patrick, all of Waltham and Joan D. Martin and her husband, Leo, of Watertown; her grandchildren, Waltham Fire Department Lieut. Randy Mullin, Julie Hobbs, Kevin Mullin, Austin Martin, Benjamin Martin, M.D., Ensign Joseph Martin, U.S.N., Mary and Matthew King; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Holly Mullin and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John J. Ryan, M.D. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
