Waltham – Mrs. Mary E. (Thibodeau) Donovan, of Waltham, died on Monday September 9, 2013 in the Maristhill Nursing Home. She was 97.
Mary was born in Peterburough, New Hampshire on February 19, 1916, a daughter of the late Victor and Esther (Brideau) Thibodeau. She was very active at St. Mary's Church in Waltham where she was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
She was the wife of the late Paul F. Donovan.
She is survived by her children, Peter F. Donovan and his wife, Patricia, of Waltham, Joseph P. Donovan and his wife, Laureen, of Waltham, Mary E. Marino of Freeport, New York, Bryan P. Donovan of Waltham and Ann Marie McCloskey and her husband, Michael, of Welch, Oregon. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Josephine Houlihan, Maria Ida Hingston, Eliza O'Brien and Mary Stella Thibodeau.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, September 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
